Almost fought a guy today

Today I went to take my kid to get vaccinations. There was this guy and he was making jokes as he checked my wife, me, and our kid in. I seriously thought he was flirting with my wife. I walked off in anger and let it fester. I saw my wife smile and I really got angry. I told her I didn't want her talking to him the rest of the day. She said, "Whatever." And I got pissed. I stood up to rip the guy up when a guy with his kid went to check in. Then that dad laughed. The clinic worker suddenly said, "We are at a clinic on a Saturday. I'm sure you had something better to do than be here. I'm just trying to make everyone smile." The other dad laughed and said, "Thanks, I needed that." They shook hands. I realized then, he was trying to make everyone happy.

There was a woman next to him, rolling her eyes, saying "Oh my God, I can't believe this. I have to check in MORE PEOPLE!" He was balancing her negative energy. I guess he was the more productive one. I apologized to him and he said I had nothing to apologize for. He's just trying to have a fun Saturday and if I wasn't laughing, then he tried.

That made my day brighter. The guy was a character but looking back, he did make the place feel less stressful.
